Joyce and Jonathan were so kind and so wonderful to film on their beautiful wedding day! We enjoyed every minute of their wedding event, from their morning preparations through to their romantic reception. And their love story was equally fantastic! We learned that for well over a year, their families had been trying to set them up on a date. They knew each other’s first names, but never had the chance or any real plans to meet. But as Joyce said it best, another force had other plans for them. They ended up meeting each other when Jon was visiting family in the hospital that she worked in as a nurse. He wondered if this was the same Joyce that his family was trying to set him up with! A week later, he asked for her number from his aunt and they went on their first date. It turns out, Joyce’s grandmother also babysat Jon when he was a child! So many events happened that put Joyce and Jon on the path to being together. And when they finally were ready, everything fell into place.
Joyce and Jon began their wedding preparations with their bridal party at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, NJ. They each had special touches that made their day so personalized, including Jon’s Superman cufflinks! Jon was sure to take a moment to read his beautiful love note from Joyce before the guys toasted to the couple.
Before Joyce was finished getting ready for the big day, she read her love note from Jon. It was so touching that he wrote that he was looking forward to spending the rest of his life with her, his best friend and soul mate. Joyce’s attendants and family helped her prepare for the event, including such perfect hair and makeup by her maid of honor, and then into her gorgeous wedding gown. Joyce’s wedding dress was an elegant ballgown with an illusion sweetheart bodice covered in dazzling beading. She was the most beautiful and graceful bride! Joyce also carried a lush and beautiful bouquet filled with blooms in white and several shades of purple, her lovely wedding theme colors. The two skipped a first look and headed straight to the church for the ceremony.
Joyce and Jon’s ceremony was held at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Cherry Hill. Check out the smile on Jon’s face as he saw Joyce for the first time that day. Both were truly all smiles and couldn’t hide their excitement! They celebrated many Filipino wedding traditions during their ceremony, including lighting unity candles, binding with the veil and cord, blessing and giving coins and placing flowers at image of Mary. We loved how their officiant, Father Tom Newton, reminded them of all the things that are necessary for a successful marriage during the ceremony before they spoke their traditional vows.
After the ceremony concluded, photos were taken by the team at Kalen Foley at Knight Park in Collingswood. It was such a pleasure to work with them for this beautiful wedding event. We also loved the variety of shades of purple that Joyce’s lovely bridesmaids wore, matching the gorgeous wedding theme colors.
Joyce and Jon had a wonderful, romantic reception at the exquisite Collingswood Grand Ballroom with their first dance being truly extra special. At the very end of their cocktail hour, all of their guests went to the mezzanine overlooking the dance floor. Joyce and Jon arrived to dance their first dance together as husband and wife with all of their guests watching from above. There was not a space left available! The grand ballroom was so elegant, all awash in a lavender glow. Truly spectacular! Touching parent dances followed and then the party continued with Center Stage Entertainment doing a terrific job emceeing and providing music for this event. You can see their guests had so much fun on that dance floor… and there were some really amazing dancers!
