Jill + Glen

Six and a half years ago we filmed the wedding of Lisa and Jeff... and we absolutely couldn't wait to be there to film Lisa's sister, Jill, and her fiancée Glen's big day, too!  It was a wonderful spring day (that felt more like summer!) and it really was such a joy to celebrate with this sweet couple and with their warm and welcoming family.

Jill and Glen met in 2014 at a friend's birthday party.  Even though they had mutual friends in common, they'd never crossed paths until that momentous night.  They had so much fun that evening, talking and laughing, and decided to exchange phone numbers.  As Jill put it so beautifully, "that night was the beginning of our forever."  The very next day, they went on their first date and the two have been inseparable since then!

About six and a half years later, on Jill's birthday, she and Glen took a day trip to Annapolis, Maryland.  It was a pretty summer's day, and the couple strolled the streets, sightseeing and visiting the stores on Main Street with other tourists and shoppers.  Once they reached the dock, they stopped to listen to a duo of street performers.  It was the perfect scene... the sounds of the piano and violin with the water and boats in the background.  Glen asked bystanders to take their photo, who happily obliged, and when he asked for a second picture, Glen got down on one knee.  With diamond ring in hand, he asked Jill, "Will you?"  She didn't say yes exactly... but nodded her head, crying, and said, "Uh huh."

Jill was an absolutely beautiful bride!  She got ready for her wedding day at her parents' home in Maryland.  After hair and makeup was completed, she dressed into her amazing Stella York gown.  Her dress had an A-line silhouette, a subtle V-neckline and featured gorgeous lace appliqués in beautiful floral and vine-line patterns over soft tulle.  And those blue sandals were fantastic!

Jill's bridal party wore lovely matching light blue dresses and the wedding theme colors of soft blue and blush were also reflected in the gorgeous flower bouquets from Floral Impressions.

Glen and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, the groom standing apart from the rest of the guys with a white tie and vest.  Glen's best man's and groomsmen's light periwinkle blue ties coordinated perfectly with the bridal party's light and summery gowns.

Then it was time for to make it official!  Jill and Glen's ceremony was held at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Baltimore, Maryland.  Father Bob Harrison performed their traditional Catholic ceremony and gave a beautiful homily.  Jill and Glen recited their very emotional vows, lit the symbolic unity candle together, exchanged rings and were pronounced as 'husband and wife'.

Before their reception began, we spent time outdoors with TLIC Media as they took candid and formal photographs of the couple and their wedding party.  It was a pleasure to work with their team on this very special day.

Jill and Glen's reception took place at the Shriners Boumi Temple in Rosedale.  The décor was gorgeous, with pink and blue florals and linens, cozy lanterns and rustic wood accents.  Just perfect!

Introductions of the wedding party began, and it was so fantastic to see Jill's cute baby nephew arrive for the party in his little car, looking so cool in his dark sunglasses (congrats to her sister Lisa and her husband, Jeff!).  He was so adorable!

Then, Jill and Glen were introduced as the newest Mr. and Mrs.!   And they shared their beautiful first dance.  Jill's father then gave a touching speech to honor the bride, groom and the couple together, and once again moved us all to tears!

We always love seeing the Polish wedding customs represented, such as the sharing of the bread, salt and wine.  The newlyweds were presented with these symbolic gifts as a wish for prosperity, good health, cheer and the continued love of many friends.  Jill also had a Czepek placed upon her head, evoking blessings, and a traditional (fun!) hat was placed on Glen's head as well.

Glen's best man and Jill's matron of honor, her sister, gave wonderful toasts, both funny and heartfelt.  We especially loved the poem of advice and about the joys of marriage shared by Jill's sister.  And after dinner, Jill shared her special dance with her father and Glen followed with a sweet dance with his sister.  With their warm embraces, you can easily see the love they share.

As dancing continued, the couple and guests participated in the traditional Polish Apron Dance, where money is donated cheerfully to the couple as everyone continues dancing the night away in celebration!  DJ Isaac, from Baltimore's Premier Event Solutions, definitely knew how to keep this party going strong all night!

The couple took a break from dancing to cut and share a taste of their amazing four-tiered wedding cake from Sugar Bakers.  And at the end of the celebration, Jill and Glen were given an exciting sparkler salute to send them off!

We're so blessed to have had the opportunity to share in Jill and Glen's incredible wedding day!  They were so sweet and down to earth each time we chatted over the many months that ticked by before their wedding day, and it was so wonderful to film such an important day in their lives together.  Congratulations and all our best wishes to Jill and Glen!

Lisa + Jeff

Lisa and Jeff met several years earlier when Lisa’s dog needed emergency care.  Jeff works for an animal E.R. in Baltimore and was part of the team providing the medical care that her dog needed throughout her five day hospitalization.  Although Lisa and Jeff didn’t meet under the best of circumstances, their relationship blossomed from that first day.

On their 1,000th day together, Jeff decided it was time to move their relationship into the next phase.  On a date at Sherwood Gardens, Jeff presented Lisa with a photo book he had created highlighting their relationship’s history to that date.  On the last page was a photo of Jeff’s hand with the ring in its box, and the words, “Now I have a question for you...”.  Jeff then got down on one knee and asked for Lisa’s hand in marriage.  Through tears, she happily said, “Yes!”.  That brings us to this wonderful day, the next chapter in their lives, and a new chapter to add to their photo book!

Lisa and Jeff added so much wonderful personalization to their wedding day.  We loved the chalkboard signs that were found throughout the event.  Some were also held by Lisa’s bridal party to creatively describe their ties to Lisa in their ‘morning preparations’ photo shoot.  We loved how they held up their signs indicating what they have in common with Lisa while wearing their matching robes!

The beautiful bridesmaids dressed in the theme color, a bright, yet deep shade of purple, in lovely one-shoulder, knee length gowns.  Their bright bouquets by Floral Impressions had a pop of this vibrant purple color, mixed in with light green and orange.  Lisa’s lush bouquet was made in ivory with accents of purple infused.  And while Jeff wore a classic black tux with white tie, his groomsmen matched the bridesmaids’ purple gowns with their vests and ties.  Everything tied together so wonderfully!

Lisa wore a beautiful lace covered A-line wedding gown with a lovely V-neck design.  Her classic, mid-length veil was edged in matching lace and was fastened at the back of her hair.  And she also accented the side of her hair with a romantic white faux flower.  She was absolutely stunning!

Lisa and Jeff share an affinity for Disney and a love of animals, so they were sure to incorporate both into their wedding day!  Their beloved dogs, Abby and Scooby, were the honorary flower girl and ring bearer for this event!  And we’ll soon find special touches of Disney throughout their reception.

Lisa and Jeff’s ceremony was held at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Dundalk, MD.  The two skipped any first looks that morning and instead saved that moment for the altar.  We loved how Jeff had to hold back his emotions as he saw his bride coming up the aisle to meet him.  They recited their traditional vows and were united as husband and wife.

Photos by Timeless Impressions followed in the church and in a peaceful field not far from their reception venue.  Check out the wedding party’s celebratory poses at the altar!  And in the recreation field, it was so nice to see the couple having a little time alone before their reception.

The reception then commenced at the Shriners' Boumi Temple.  This establishment, its name Arabic for ‘Owl’, was founded in 1884 as a fraternity for Masons seeking fun and fellowship.  The ballroom was exquisite, decked out in chiavari chairs and deep purple linens.  Their delightful four-tier cake by Baltimore Cakery featured ribbons in purple and a cute couple wearing ‘bride and groom’ Mickey ears!  Also found at the head table were real-life Mickey ear hats for Lisa and Jeff!

Emotions certainly ran high during the beautifully written speeches that were given in honor of Lisa and Jeff.  And there was not a dry eye in the house when Lisa’s father gave his moving toast, reminding everyone that Lisa will always be his little girl.  It was so touching.  And the wonderful Polish tradition of the sharing of the bread, salt and wine was included in this event.  In this symbolic toast by their parents, the bride and groom are presented with bread so they may never be hungry, salt so they are reminded to learn to cope with life’s struggles and wine so they may never be thirsty, but are blessed with the sweetness of life: good health, happiness and the love of many friends.

Once the dance floor was opened, guests had a ton of fun dancing the evening away to music DJ’d by Music Masters, LLC.  The festive Apron Dance was also performed to the cheers of everyone.  To conclude the event, Lisa and Jeff were treated to a fabulous sparkler send off by their friends and family.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of Lisa and Jeff’s wedding day!  In the Polish tradition, we wish you 100 years of good health and happiness!

Sarah + Ken

Sarah and Ken have a great sense of humor and just love to have fun!  They met at a New Year’s Eve party and knew right on their first date that they would eventually be getting married.  Their wedding day was filled with such fun, laughter... and as Sarah had envisioned, dancing, dancing, dancing!

The couple’s wedding event event was held in Baltimore, Maryland.  Sarah began her day at her family home, getting ready in a fun and relaxed atmosphere with all of her best friends.  Friends also supplied their professional hair and makeup talents as the bridal party got ready for the big day.  Sarah and Ken paused to read such inspiring love letters that they wrote for each other.  We loved how Ken referred to this day as the greatest day of his life and shared his excitement for the life they’re about to start together.

The beautiful bridesmaids wore matching navy blue dresses while their groomsmen counterparts dressed in dark suits.  The bridal bouquets were gorgeous fall shades of orange and burgundy, a red that was a perfect match to Ken’s tie.  And Sarah was such a stunning bride!  She chose an elegant lace covered, A-line silhouetted gown with cap sleeves and had a mid-length veil attached to the back of her hair.  Just beautiful!

Sarah and Ken held their wedding event at Notre Dame of Maryland University.  Just before making their marriage official, professional photographs were taken of the wedding party and their families by Aaron Haslinger.  It was a true pleasure to work with him.  The ceremony then took place in the recently renovated Marikle Chapel of the Annunciation in Theresa Hall and their reception was held in a nearby event space on campus.

Their ceremony can easily be described as traditional and touching.  And their reception was simply fun!  The couple dreamed of a wedding filled with laughter, fun and lots of dancing... and this is exactly what they achieved!  Sarah’s amazing dance with her father was no exception.  They kept their dance surprise a secret: the music skipped and they broke out in a lighthearted dance routine together!  It was priceless!  Friends and family had a wonderful time celebrating the new marriage of Sarah and Ken!

Sarah and Ken had a wedding event full of love and laughter that truly delighted everyone.  We find ourselves so fortunate to have played a part in their special day.  Congratulations to the happy couple!  In words taken from their ceremony reading, “May your hearts be joined forever in love”.

Eugenia + Jordan

Genie and Jordan actually met over thirteen years ago when they both attended the same high school in Houston, TX.  Even after he moved away, the two stayed in touch and continued to deepen their strong friendship.  Their love continued to flourish despite the fact that Genie was attending college in Texas while Jordan attended the Naval Academy in Maryland.  One November day, Jordan proposed along the water’s edge in Annapolis, and since the city has special meaning to them both, they decided to hold their wedding there on this beautiful summer day.

Genie and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day together at the Marriott Annapolis Waterfront Hotel.  There they were professionally styled by Amie Decker Beauty dressed in beautiful coordinating floral robes.  What a beautiful setting for a wedding celebration!  After everyone was ready to go, wonderful professional photos were taken by Renee Michele Photography on the docks overlooking the Chesapeake Bay.

Their ceremony took place at The Naval Academy Chapel.  Genie was such a gorgeous bride!  Her delicate headband was the perfect accessory for her vintage style wedding gown.  We can’t say enough how beautiful the beading along the top and sleeves and lace throughout the skirt were!  Jordan was sure to wear his Full Dress Whites for this special occasion and of course, he looked so handsome.   And with this being a military wedding, the ceremony exit concluded with the traditional Arch of Swords as Genie was welcomed into the naval family with that gentle swat!

After formal photos, we were off to the reception.  The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club is an amazing venue, filled with nautical flair and gorgeous water views.  The garden landscape and waterfront location was so lovely, providing wonderful areas to film the happy couple.  Inside, the venue was beautifully decorated in the navy blue and corals found in the dresses of the bridal party.  Soo Son of Silverstems provided beautiful floral arrangements for this occasion.  And Entertainment Exchange’s Nightsong kept the party rolling and the guests enjoying themselves thoroughly on the dance floor!

Congratulations to such a sweet couple!  We wish all the best to Eugenia and Jordan!
